Graphene Quick Facts

Graphene is a one-atom thick layer of carbon arranged in a honeycomb lattice.
When millions of these are stacked one on top of the other, they form graphite.

Quick Facts:

  • Graphene is the strongest and lightest material on earth.
It is 200 times stronger than steel and as much as six times lighter
  • Electric conductivity: Graphene has a current carrying capacity
that is about a thousand times greater than copper
  • Thermal conductivity: Graphene conducts heat
better than any other known material
  • Graphene can stretch up to 25% of its length
